Induction Melting Furnace

Installation of Gold/Silver induction melting furnace at Nepal Rastra Bank, Minting division at Babarmahal, Kathmandu

The machine is used in Nepal Rastra Bank for melting gold and silver. The melting process takes only 15 minutes to completely melt either gold or silver. The machine is easy to install and provided with manual tilting facility to pour the melted gold/silver in the biscuit mold. The furnace for melting is completely isolated from the electronics associated with the system. Machine is used to melt 10-15 kg of gold or silver batch wise.

Gold Melting furnace require three phase line for its operation. The power absorbed ranges from 10KW to 20 KW. Graphite crucibles which is pure graphite that are used for melting gold and silver can handle large batches of material. The crucible can handle the temperature ranging up to 1500 degree Celsius. The furnace can be used with the maximum temperature of 1200 degree Celsius. The IGBT Electromagnetic Induction Heating Generator system is used to provide the necessary heat to melt the precious metal. The furnace coil is made from EC grade (99.9%) soft copper tube. The heating system is cooled by the water and the temperature range of water should be between 20 to 30 degree Celsius. Water pump is employed with the maximum water flow rate of 30 Liter per Minute and pressure range of 4 bar for cooling the system.

The system parameter along with the switch are displayed in the control panel provided with the system. The system operation can be turned on or off from the control panel. The display screen provided with the system, indicate the parameter like temperature flow rate etc. Failure in the system parameter causes the tripping of the system.
